Meet Tanya (She, her)

about me:

Meet your Portland doula, photographer, & massage therapist

Things I love & beliefs & thoughts I have :

Walks in the rain - because I’d rather get outside than not and often it’s just the medicine I’m needing. Some of the most blissful experiences I’ve had included surrendering to moments of downpour.

I believe that authentic connection between humans is sacred and worth the hard work it can take to get there.

While traveling inspires me, I also enjoy a good staycation, having relaxed time to enjoy my home and community.

Children should be seen and heard. They are just small humans who want connection, care and boundaries. I can’t always give them what they want, but above all listening to what they want is important.

While I often struggle to accept it, sometimes the things that are hard, whether by choice or not, lead me to the most beautiful places.

Natural healing first, because if my body can heal itself, I want to give it a chance.

I meditate and I swear. Sometimes at the same time.

I’m a doula, photographer and massage therapist. I recently transplanted to Portland from the sweet little hamlet of Bellingham, WA. I have a decade of experience with birth and bodywork. I recently completed a certification course with Birth Becomes You to add birth photography to my services.

Things I love about birth:

Forming sweet connections with the families I work with.

The moment to moment journey of pregnancy and birth.

The magical moment babies join us earthside.

The wonder of birth.

Sunrises after an overnight birth.

The faces of new parents meeting their baby for the first time.

Placentas, seriously, are the most amazing organ, created just for your baby.

Seeing birthing people find their strength in the throws and intensity of labor.

Knowing each birth is a unique story waiting to unfold.

my family:

I live in SE Portland with these two silly creatures, my partner Dustin and his kiddo. We do a lot of wandering around this city. And a lot of learning and growing together.
